Japan's Chief Cabinet Secretary Matsuno Hirokazu says Japan will strongly demand at the United Nations Security Council that Russia returns to an international framework to allow Ukraine to resume its grain exports. The UN Security Council will convene an emergency meeting on Friday to discuss Russia's withdrawal from the deal. Matsuno also said Japan will work closely with the international community on the issue. The Japanese government's top spokesperson condemned Russia for pulling out of the agreement that allows Ukraine to export grain through the Black Sea. He called the move "extremely regrettable."
