Russia&#039;s defense ministry says its forces launched massive attacks against energy facilities across Ukraine on Friday.
                
In a social media post on Saturday, the ministry said that Russian troops used missiles and drones to target important Ukrainian facilities that supply energy to the country&#039;s military industries and transportation systems.
                
It added that the missiles and drones hit all the targets.
                
Ukraine&#039;s defense ministry said 61 of 106 Russian missiles were shot down by Ukraine&#039;s air defenses. It criticized Russia for targeting civil infrastructure.
                
Ukraine&#039;s state-run power company Ukrenergo wrote a social media post on Saturday that said thermal power plants and power grids were hit by Russian drones.
It said emergency power outages were prevented by back-up generators that were quickly connected to the grid.
                
The utility added that the situation in Ukraine&#039;s energy system is challenging but controlled.
