UNICEF says at least nine children have been killed and 50 injured since intense fighting broke out in Sudan. The United Nations children's fund made the announcement on Friday. Spokesperson James Elder says young people in the country are already suffering from one of the world's highest rates of malnutrition. He added that, "Critical life-saving support for around 50,000 children is at risk now." The World Health Organization says there have been at least 10 attacks on health facilities since the fighting escalated on April 15. Officials say 20 health facilities have stopped working, adding that a lack of electricity in some hospitals is putting patients at high risk.
