Renovation of condominiums have been completed at a complex built on the site of the Tokyo Olympics athletes' village and the units are now for sale. The buildings were shown to media on Monday. The Harumi Flag complex near Tokyo Bay is expected to have about 12,000 residents. Some of them will start moving in next month. The 13-hectare site has 17 condos marketed for sale, with two more high-rises being built. The complex also has rental apartments, and schools and commercial facilities are being prepared. The complex has 51 facilities to promote interaction among residents. They include large rooms for parties and a lounge with a footbath. Some information signs from the Olympic athletes' village have been preserved as a legacy of the Tokyo Games. The Harumi Flag condos went on sale at a lower price than those in the surrounding areas. This led investors to apply for multiple units to resell them. The developer says applications for each unit averaged 71.1, with the highest at 266. Furuya Ayumu of Mitsui Fudosan Residential, which is selling the residences, said the facilities have a relaxed space design thanks to its open bayside location. Furuya hopes the residents will actively spend time in the town and cherish the community for years to come.
