About 600 people have been released after being detained for suspected involvement in Sunday's storming of government buildings in Brazil. Mostly women, children and the elderly were released on Tuesday from among the roughly 1,500 people in custody. The supporters of former President Jair Bolsonaro had broken into the Congress, the presidential palace and the Supreme Court in the capital Brasilia on Sunday. They broke windows and vandalized equipment, works of art, documents and other objects. A man who was released told Reuters news agency that he and others will get ready for a new fight. On Tuesday, buses carrying still-detained Bolsonaro supporters were seen leaving a national police facility. Sources close to the facility said police will be questioning them at another location. Meanwhile, rallies by supporters of President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva have been taking place across the country. Demonstrators repeatedly chanted, "No amnesty!" The government plans to conduct thorough investigations on the incident to piece together how it happened.
