Reuters: Gaza ceasefire talks will resume in Egypt on Sunday NHK

Reuters news agency, citing sources in Egypt, says ceasefire and hostage release talks between Israel and Hamas will likely resume in Egypt on Sunday.

But some media outlets in Israel have quoted a senior Israeli government official as saying that Israel would not send a delegation until it gets a full list of hostages who are still alive.

It remains uncertain whether Israel will take part in the talks, and whether there will be progress as there are still large gaps between the two. Israeli forces continued a fierce offensive across the Gaza Strip on Saturday.

Health authorities in Gaza say an Israeli airstrike near a hospital in the southern city of Rafah killed 11 people and wounded about 50 others.

Nearly 1.5 million people live in Rafah, including those who have fled northern Gaza.

The authorities say the death toll in the enclave has now reached 30,320.

The United States, along with countries mediating the ceasefire talks, hope that a deal will be reached before the Muslim holy month of Ramadan that starts around March 10.
