Two climate activists have been arrested after they threw soup on Vincent van Gogh's painting "Sunflowers" at the National Gallery in London. The gallery said the frame suffered minor damage but the glass-covered painting was unharmed. London's Metropolitan Police said the incident took place on Friday. The two were arrested on suspicion of criminal damage and aggravated trespass. Footage from local media outlets show two women throwing the contents of tomato soup cans on the famous painting. One of them shouts, "What is worth more, art or life?" and, "Are you more concerned about the protection of a painting or the protection of our planet and people?" The women are members of Just Stop Oil, an organization that campaigns against fossil fuel use. The group said the two protesters demanded the British government halt new oil and gas projects. The National Gallery says the painting is now back on display.
