Japan reports 81,535 new COVID cases, 307 deaths on Tuesday NHK

Japan's health ministry says it confirmed 81,535 new cases of the coronavirus and 307 deaths nationwide on Tuesday.

In Tokyo, the number of new infections was 7,306, down 3,814 from a week ago. This is the seventh straight day that the figure has fallen compared with the same day a week earlier.

The ministry confirmed 30 deaths in the capital, down one from Monday.
