Tokyo's governor says she plans to explore legislation to prevent abuse by customers and business partners, such as unreasonable demands and malicious complaints. Governor Koike Yuriko delivered a policy speech at a regular session of the Tokyo Metropolitan Assembly on Tuesday. During the speech, she said the problem has been worsening in the capital, and that there are calls to create tailored regulations. She also said her government will study the introduction of an ordinance that firms will be able to rely on when addressing such harassment. The Tokyo government says such an ordinance would be the first of its kind in Japan. Koike told reporters that officials will study details, and that she hopes the rules will be implemented as quickly as possible.
