The Chinese government has urged the United States to stop what it called "military collusion" with Taiwan.
Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Wang Wenbin made the call on Tuesday, following reports that the US and Taiwan held joint naval drills in the Western Pacific last month.
Wang also warned the Taiwanese administration led by the Democratic Progressive Party that attempts to seek independence or reject unification by force would lead to destruction and will certainly end in failure.
