Major League Baseball star Ohtani Shohei of the Los Angeles Dodgers says he and his wife Mamiko are expecting a baby.
                
The 30-year-old player wrote on his Instagram account that he &quot;can&#039;t wait for the little rookie to join our family soon!&quot;
                
He also posted a photo showing the couple&#039;s pet dog, Dekopin -- better known as Decoy in the United States. It also shows a pink onesie, white baby shoes and what appears to be a sonogram covered with a baby emoji.
                
Ohtani revealed in February on Instagram that he had married Mamiko, a former basketball player.
                
Ohtani joined the Dodgers this year. He is known as a two-way player, but only played as a batter this season after having elbow surgery.
                
He became the first Major Leaguer to achieve 50 homers and 50 stolen bases in a single season. He received his third MVP award in his MLB career, following his second last season.
                
Ohtani also significantly contributed to his team&#039;s victory in the World Series.
                
He aims to make a comeback as a two-way player next season after spring training in February.
