   B: Nah, what's up?

A: So, China's representative at the UN called out Japan about historical events during a meeting on genocide!

B: What did they say exactly?

A: They said that the outcomes of World War Two and the trials in Nuremberg and Tokyo can't be changed. Quite bold, don't you think?

B: Yeah, it sounds like they're still upset about something. What was Japan's response?

A: Japan's representative said that all nations should be humble about their history and acknowledged that Japan has faced its past squarely. They also mentioned walking the path of a peace-loving nation for the last eight decades.

B: That sounds like they tried to keep things diplomatic. This is all because of a comment from our Prime Minister, Takaichi Sanae, about Taiwan, right?

A: Exactly! She said that a possible emergency involving Taiwan could be seen as a threat to Japan's survival, and China's been complaining about it ever since. They even submitted written requests for her remark to be retracted!
