The US space agency NASA says two astronauts installed a roll-out solar array on the International Space Station on Thursday. It was the first activity outside the ISS since a fluid leak from a Soyuz spacecraft on December 14 led to the postponement of a spacewalk by two Russian cosmonauts. Flight engineers, including Japanese astronaut Wakata Koichi, operated a robotic arm to support the installation. NASA and Russian space officials are investigating what caused the fluid leak. They say it did not pose any risk to the ISS crew.
