Japan's wheelchair rugby team has won an international competition held in Tokyo, qualifying them for next year's Paralympic Games in Paris. The competitors were third-ranked Japan, second-ranked Australia, eighth-ranked New Zealand and 15th-ranked South Korea. Japan finished the first round at the top, and beat Australia 55 to 44 in the final on Sunday. The Japanese team will be competing in its sixth Paralympics in a row since the Athens games in 2004. It won the bronze medal in the last two games. After Sunday's final, team captain Ike Yukinobu said that the cheers from the crowd were a great encouragement. He said his team did its best to win the ticket to the Paris Paralympics, and that they will train hard to claim the gold medal.
