China says Myanmar&#039;s military and three ethnic armed groups have agreed on a temporary ceasefire. But neither of the warring sides has officially announced the deal.
                
China&#039;s foreign ministry said on Thursday the two sides reached the agreement after Beijing had mediated peace talks. It added the sides also agreed to maintain &quot;the momentum of dialogue.&quot;
                
China has not disclosed details of the agreement, such as how long the ceasefire is supposed to continue.
                
Myanmar&#039;s military said on Monday it had met the rebels under the mediation of China and that another round of talks is due by the end of December.
                
The alliance of the ethnic militant groups took to social media on Wednesday, pledging to continue fighting until it defeats the military.
                
The militant groups launched coordinated attacks against the military in the eastern state of Shan in late October. They have since intensified offensives in tandem with pro-democracy forces.
