Sources tell NHK that Ukraine has proposed an international summit in Switzerland as early as June, likely aimed at giving momentum to Kyiv's plan for ending Russia's invasion. The sources say Ukraine made the request during informal talks on Wednesday in Kyiv with senior government officials from around the world. The Group of Seven, Switzerland, and a number of emerging and developing nations known collectively as the Global South attended. The sources say White House National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan also took part. Sullivan has revealed that he held separate talks in Kyiv on Wednesday with Ukrainian presidential office head Andriy Yermak. Russian troops are intensifying their offensive, but Western military support for Ukraine has recently waned. Kyiv has a 10-point peace plan that calls for the withdrawal of Russian troops and the restoration of Ukraine's territorial integrity. Some emerging countries have insisted that Moscow be invited to the summit for discussions on a ceasefire.
