The Kremlin says that Russian President Vladimir Putin has sent a telegram to Chinese leader Xi Jinping to congratulate him on his 70th birthday on June 15. According to the Kremlin, Putin praised Xi's leadership for achieving steady economic growth in China, resulting in further raising the country's global standing. Putin also mentioned Xi's state visit to Russia in March, and stressed that the visit provided a boost to the development of mutually beneficial cooperation in important areas for the two countries.
