BOJ keeps rate target unchanged at around 0.5% NHK

The Bank of Japan has decided to keep its benchmark interest rate unchanged.
The central bank said at the end of its two-day policy meeting on Thursday that it will continue to target a short-term rate of around 0.5 percent.
It is the sixth time in a row that the BOJ has maintained the same level since a rate hike in January.
Policymakers said it is necessary to carefully monitor risks to the economy, including uncertainty caused by US tariff measures.
Two out of the nine BOJ board members advocated raising rates, as they had at the previous meeting in September.
