A prosecutor of the International Criminal Court is filing applications for arrest warrants for five people, including Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the Hamas leader in the Gaza Strip, Yahya Sinwar.
ICC prosecutor Karim Khan released a statement on Monday. He says the five allegedly committed war crimes and crimes against humanity in the conflict between Israel and Hamas.
The five also include Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, with two others on the Hamas side.
The court will decide on whether to issue warrants after the Pre-Trial Chamber analyzes evidence put forward by the prosecutor.
