Ozeki champion Onosato has won the Spring Grand Sumo Tournament after a playoff. This is his first title since he was promoted to the sport's second-highest rank, and the third in his career. Onosato went into a playoff with former Ozeki Takayasu on Sunday, after both wrestlers ended the 15-day event with 12 wins and three losses. He scored win after win by utilizing his physical advantages -- he is 1.92 meters tall and weighs 183 kilograms. Yokozuna Grand Champion Hoshoryu dropped out of the tournament, his first since he was promoted to the highest position.
