Iran to accept technical team from IAEA NHK

A: Hey there, heard any news lately?
B: Nah, what's up?

A: Well, Iran decided to let some guys from the UN atomic energy group visit their place!
B: Really? What changed? I thought they were mad at them.

A: Yup! They stopped working with them after some attacks on their nuclear facilities by Israel and the US. But now they say they'll talk again.
B: Wow, that sounds serious! What about those inspectors who left?

A: Yeah, that was a concern. But Iran's TV said a technical team from the UN group will visit in two or three weeks.
B: That's interesting! And what about talks with Western countries?

A: They're having deputy minister-level meetings with Britain, France, and Germany this Friday about their nuclear program.
B: Oh, I see. And what about the US? Can they talk now?

A: Well, Iran said they'd talk if it's indirectly through other countries. Maybe they want to show that their nuclear stuff is for peace, not war.

Iran says it has agreed to allow a technical team from the International Atomic Energy Agency to visit the country soon to discuss ways to work together going forward.

Iran announced last month that it would suspend cooperation with the IAEA following Israeli and US strikes on its nuclear facilities. It accused the UN agency's activities of being used as a pretext for the attacks.

The departure of inspectors from Iran raised concerns about disruptions to monitoring its nuclear program.

Iran's state-run television says Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi told reporters on Wednesday that an IAEA technical team will travel to the country in the next two or three weeks.

Iran is expected to hold talks over its nuclear program with Britain, France and Germany at the deputy minister level on Friday.

Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said on Monday that Tehran is open to resuming the suspended talks with the United States, provided they take place indirectly.

Tehran may be trying to reaffirm that its nuclear program is for peaceful purposes by showing willingness to cooperate with the IAEA ahead of talks with Western nations.
