All four men suspected of remotely orchestrating a robbery spree in Japan have now been repatriated following their deportation from the Philippines. Watanabe Yuki and Kojima Tomonobu, who were arrested mid-flight on suspicion of fraud, arrived in Tokyo early Thursday. Police allege they stole two bank cards from a man in 2019 after contacting him pretending to be from the Financial Services Agency. The other two suspects, Fujita Toshiya and Imamura Kiyoto, arrived in Japan on Tuesday. Police suspect the four men, led by Watanabe, conducted telephone scams in Japan from the Philippines. Investigators believe the operation netted more than 6 billion yen, or about 45 million dollars. Police are also investigating the group's suspected involvement in a series of robberies in Japan that took place in more than a dozen prefectures. One robbery in Tokyo claimed the life of a 90-year-old woman.
