European leaders have reaffirmed their commitment to work with Ukraine in countering Russian drone incursions. This follows a series of incidents of unmanned aircraft entering European airspace.
Heads of about 50 countries of the European Political Community gathered in Copenhagen, Denmark, on Thursday. The EPC was set up by EU member states and neighboring countries in response to Russia&#039;s invasion of Ukraine.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy also took part.
The leaders agreed to strengthen cooperation with Ukraine in its ongoing efforts to counter Russian drones, including measures to shoot them down.
Denmark&#039;s Prime Minister and EPC co-chair Mette Frederiksen spoke to reporters after the meeting. She said: &quot;Russia is testing us. And more than ever we need to stand strong together.&quot;
Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine will share its military&#039;s experience and expertise to respond to Russia&#039;s drone threat.
The participants also discussed support for Ukraine.
Zelenskyy called for tougher sanctions against Russia, specifically targeting its oil tanker &quot;shadow fleet,&quot; so that it is forced to end the war.
