MAGA melts down after Trump loses his first GOP primary to Nikki Haley

Donald Trump lost to Nikki Haley in D.C. on Sunday, according to several news reports. MAGA isn't handling it well.

Decision Desk HQ projected that Haley, Trump's former U.N. ambassador, defeated the former president in the District of Columbia Republican primary. The site shows her receiving 62.8% of the vote versus Trump, who got 33.3%.

NBC News also made the same call.

The response from Trump fans Sunday evening was less than happy.

"Makes total sense," said Mike Davis of the Article III Project. "Nikki Haley is definitely the candidate for the DC uniparty defense contractors and other big-government bottom feeders."

A group for D.C. Republicans wrote, "DC is full of phony Republican staffers resentful of their impotence within our party."

"Tonight’s result will only increase the disgust Republicans across the country have for Nikki Haley!" it added.

A profile called "Brown conservative" also chimed in:

"Democrat backed Republican candidate Nikki Haley has won D.C. which further proved who are behind the end of America," the account wrote.

Trump's campaign also released a statement on Haley's first victory over the ex-president, saying Haley had been "crowned queen of the swamp."

"While Nikki has been soundly rejected throughout the rest of America, she was just crowned Queen of the Swamp by the lobbyists and DC insiders that want to protect the failed status quo," the campaign press secretary, Karoline Leavitt, wrote in the Sunday night statement. "The swamp claimed her their queen."
