A shooting incident at a UN compound in Kabul has left a Taliban security guard dead. Both the UN and the Taliban are carrying out separate investigations into the attack. The United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan says the shooting occurred on Sunday. The compound houses the offices of several UN agencies and accommodation for UN international staff members. A spokesperson for the interior ministry told NHK that besides the Taliban guard, another UN contractor had been wounded. Reuters News Agency says gunshots were fired by a Taliban security force member, but it was unclear what provoked the firing.
