Yonhap: South Korean former defense minister arrested NHK

South Korea's Yonhap News Agency says prosecutors have arrested former Defense Minister Kim Yong-hyun.

Kim is said to have advised President Yoon Suk-yeol to declare martial law last week.

A court in Seoul had issued an arrest warrant for Kim on charges of helping Yoon stage an insurrection.

He is the first senior government official to be arrested in connection to Yoon's declaration, which plunged the country into turmoil.
