Japan unit of US cybersecurity firm confirms system failures NHK

The Japanese unit of US cybersecurity firm CrowdStrike has reported glitches on computers using its software.

The firm's Japanese unit says that on Friday afternoon it confirmed cases of trouble with PCs running Microsoft's Windows operating system.

It says those machines were unintentionally restarted and displayed the blue screen that indicates a system crash.

The firm says the trouble appears to have occurred on computers that have installed CrowdStrike's Falcon security software.

The firm's clients are mainly businesses.
