A man stabbed a passerby to death and injured two others in central Paris on Saturday. Police have arrested a 26-year-old French citizen. Reuters news agency and other media say the assailant stabbed a German tourist with a knife and used a hammer to attack the two other people near the Eiffel Tower. The French interior ministry and other authorities said the man had been under surveillance as a person influenced by extremist Islamic ideology. They said he had shouted "God is great" in Arabic before being arrested.
