South Korean President Yoon says he will not submit to further questioning NHK

Impeached South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol says he will not submit to further questioning, and he maintains that the investigation of him is unjust.

Yoon was detained and questioned on Wednesday. He is suspected of orchestrating an insurrection by briefly declaring martial law last month.

Investigators planned to continue questioning him on Thursday morning, but they delayed the start time until 2:00 p.m. after Yoon requested a postponement for health reasons.

Yoon's lawyer told the Yonhap News Agency that there was nothing else to question the president about, as Yoon had fully explained his position on Wednesday. Yoon refused to answer any questions on that day.

Meanwhile, Yoon's side asked a court on Wednesday to decide on the legality of his detention.

Investigators have 48 hours, or until Friday morning, to seek a court-issued arrest warrant.
