China's top diplomat arrives in Moscow for talks on Ukraine NHK

The Russian newspaper, Kommersant, said on Sunday that China's top diplomat, Wang Yi, is in Moscow for talks on a possible peace plan for Ukraine.

The newspaper reported that the main aim of Wang's visit is to increase the role of Beijing in a peace settlement.

Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said on Monday he is not ruling out a meeting between Wang and Russian President Vladimir Putin. He also said the agenda is "clear and very extensive," adding that there are many things to talk about.

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said he conveyed his concerns to Wang about Beijing's possible support for the Russian invasion of Ukraine when they met on Saturday on the sidelines of a security conference in Munich, Germany.
