In Nemuro, Hokkaido, a funeral was held on Monday for Tomikawa Mei, one of the Japanese victims of the fatal crowd crush accident in South Korea last month. The accident occurred in Seoul's Itaewon entertainment district. The photo of Tomikawa that was placed at the altar was taken by her mother in Hakodate last May. About 100 people attended, including family members and friends. Her father, Tomikawa Ayumu, says he feels a sense of relief that she is finally able to be with her friends.
