Russia is stepping up its offensive in eastern parts of Ukraine, but Kyiv is reportedly conducting a large-scale operation in the southern Kherson region. Ukrainian troops are likely to have crossed the Dnipro River to the Russian-occupied area.

The Russian military launched a missile attack on Saturday on a postal distribution center in the eastern region of Kharkiv. Ukrainian officials say at least six people were killed and 16 injured.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has called for more pressure on Russia, describing it as a terrorist state.

The Ukrainian military says Russia is pushing to capture the town of Avdiivka and has deployed many troops.
The US-based Institute for the Study of War said on Saturday that Ukrainian forces had likely repelled another intensified offensive towards Avdiivka in the past several days. They have also reportedly inflicted further heavy personnel and equipment losses on Russian troops.

The Institute for the Study of War shared its analysis that the Ukrainian forces were conducting larger than usual operations on the east bank and have established a presence in a settlement there.
