As search and rescue efforts continue at a skyscraper in Bangkok that collapsed in an earthquake on March 28, a poll conducted by a national academic institute in the Thai capital shows people are anxious about the structural safety of buildings.
        
                    
                  
Sixteen people are confirmed dead and dozens are missing after the under-construction high-rise intended for the State Audit Office came crashing down. Heavy machinery is being used to dig through the mountain of rubble in a bid to reach laborers underneath. The National Institute of Development Administration reported the results of an opinion survey it carried out between April 1 and 3, showing 68 percent of respondents are concerned about buildings&#039; stability and safety. The Thai government has launched a nationwide inspection to identify unsafe buildings and is investigating why the Bangkok skyscraper caved in.
