A Japanese tennis player has lodged an appeal to the organizer of the Grand Slam tournaments after being disqualified in the women&#039;s doubles at the French Open for accidentally hitting a ball girl with a ball.
                
Kato Miyu told reporters on Monday about how she and her Indonesian partner were forced out of the third round on Sunday.
                
Kato said she was initially given a warning after a ball she had casually thrown into the opposite side of the court hit the girl, but the decision was changed after the opposing pair protested.
                
She said she cannot accept the decision, and denied having intentionally hit the girl.
                
Kato also said she asked a supervisor to check a video of the match, but the supervisor denied the request, responding that she had just been unlucky.
                
Kato and her German partner Tim Puetz appeared at a news conference after the pair reached the mixed doubles semifinals on Monday.
                
Asked about why she was tearful after the win, Kato said she hadn&#039;t fully recovered from what happened the day before.
                
She added that she was relieved at being able to complete the match, and that her opponents had offered her kind words.
