Japanese Prime Minister Kishida Fumio and South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol have agreed that the two countries will work together to resume trilateral summit talks of Japan, South Korea and China. The two leaders met for about 20 minutes on Sunday on the sidelines of the G20 summit in New Delhi, India. The leaders touched upon the fact that they have held talks multiple times after Yoon assumed office. They welcomed the two countries' continued close coordination on such occasions as their 3-way summit meeting with US President Joe Biden last month and the G20 summit. Yoon expressed his intention to steadfastly move forward the process for resuming summit meetings of Japan, South Korea and China. Kishida expressed his continued support for the South Korean efforts. Summit talks of the three countries were last held in 2019. Kishida and Yoon also agreed that Japan and South Korea will continue communicating at all levels.
