A senior official at the Office of the Ukrainian President has called on the country's allies and partners to be united and pressure Russia into a ceasefire. Palisa Pavlo, a Deputy Head of the office, spoke to NHK in the Ukrainian Capital of Kyiv on Saturday. Palisa first commented on the current situation, with no ceasefire in sight even after the US-mediated agreement between Russia and Ukraine to stop attacks on energy facilities. He said only joint pressure on Russia from partners, from the United States, and from Europe will be able to influence their blood-thirstiness. Palisa was among the Ukrainian officials who met with US officials in Saudi Arabia late last month. He said Ukraine is ready to resume talks with the United States aimed at a ceasefire. He said Ukraine's first priorities are a ceasefire, the return of its prisoners and the safety of its citizens. On Friday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed his desire to decide within a month on the scale and other specifics of troops to be sent to Ukraine. Zelenskyy was speaking at a meeting with Britain and France on a plan to send troops to Ukraine after a ceasefire. Palisa expressed his intention to move from a plan to concrete solutions as soon as possible. He added there are many countries that have expressed their support for the plan. He said the participating countries and other details will be made public when the plan is finalized.
