1. A group of former employees from Bill Gates' Breakthrough Energy organization have formed a new nonprofit called the Clean Economy Project. 2. The Clean Economy Project aims to accelerate the adoption and lower the costs of clean energy, with a focus on three goals: building energy projects faster, accelerating innovation, and derisking private investment in clean industries. 3. Aliya Haq, who was the vice president of U.S. policy and advocacy at Breakthrough Energy for nearly six years, is now the president of the Clean Economy Project. The new organization is backed by an undisclosed group of more than 10 funders that includes philanthropists and venture capitalists.
