CES tech show focuses on 'Human Security' NHK

More than 3,200 companies from around the globe are taking part in CES 2023, one of the world's biggest technology trade fairs, now underway in Las Vegas. Companies are showcasing their latest products, from high-definition TVs to smartphones and electric cars.

The fair has an overall theme for the first time: "Human Security for All."

Consumer Technology Association CEO Gary Shapiro says, "That theme is focused on what technology can do to make the world better."

The goal is to use technology not only to make things fun and convenient, but to address global problems, like food security and the environment.
