A: Hey there! Guess what I saw last night?
   B: No, what was it?

A: The Omagari Fireworks competition in Daisen city! It was amazing!
   B: Really? I've never been there. How was it?

A: There were thousands of fireworks lighting up the sky! Twenty-eight teams from all over Japan took part. They had a day and nighttime section with different types like smoke fireworks and round ones set to music.
   B: Wow, that sounds fantastic! What was the main event about?

A: It was based on the theme of "peace". Around 2,200 fireworks were launched over five minutes, all while a symphonic poem called "Finlandia" played. It's more than a hundred years old and supported the Finnish independence movement!
   B: That's cool! I bet it was beautiful. Did many people go to see it?

A: Oh yeah! About 100,000 spectators were there in total, and they enjoyed around 18,000 fireworks. Even a woman from Miyazaki Prefecture said she was moved by how many different colors and types of fireworks there were.
   B: A kid from Daisen said he liked the round and rainbow-colored ones best. I should definitely check it out next year!
