US tech firm Oracle says it will invest more than 8 billion dollars in Japan over the next 10 years to meet growing demand for IT services. The firm says it will expand its data center operations, increase its cloud services and hire more engineers, among other measures. The move comes amid increasing adoption of AI. Demand for data centers is also on the rise. And customers increasingly want to process and manage data domestically, without transferring it overseas. Other US IT giants also have investment plans for their Japanese businesses. Microsoft said earlier this month that it will invest 2.9 billion dollars over the next two years. And Amazon Web Services announced investments of around 14.7 billion dollars for the five years through 2027.
