Japan's Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries says it will continue to provide food supplies to the areas affected by the Noto Peninsula earthquake. Officials say they have sent about 240,000 meals with bread, rice and instant noodles, as well as 500 packages of powdered milk by Wednesday, at the request of Ishikawa Prefecture. They say the supplies have already reached the relay point in the prefecture and will be delivered to shelters and other destinations. The officials added that they shipped 190,000 bottles of drinking water on Thursday. Damage to fishing boats has also been reported. The ministry says it has confirmed at least 34 such cases. Many vessels capsized or sank. Seawalls and wharves at fishing ports have also been damaged. The ministry says it's trying to ascertain the details of the situation.
