China's exports, imports drop in August NHK

China's latest trade numbers show a drop in both imports and exports. The figures released on Thursday show exports down 8.8 percent last month in dollar terms from a year ago. That is a smaller drop than in July, but is the fourth consecutive month of decrease.

Imports were down 7.3 percent. The country's economic rebound has been losing steam recently, hampered by a slump in the property market.
Summary
China's trade figures show consecutive monthly decreases in both exports (-8.8%) and imports (-7.3%). The economic rebound has weakened due to a slump in the property market, affecting the figures released on Thursday compared to last year.
