- Thailand released 18 Cambodian soldiers detained since July, following a renewed ceasefire agreement.
- Renewed military clashes earlier this month resulted in around 50 deaths on both sides.
- Both countries expressed hope the soldier release will foster trust and sustained peace.

A: Hey! Did you hear about what’s happening between Thailand and Cambodia?
B: No! What's going on? It sounded serious.
A: Yeah, it was! They had soldiers clashing along the border.
B: Oh wow! So, what happened now?
A: Well, Thailand just released 18 Cambodian soldiers they were holding.
B: Really? That's good news, right?
A: It is! They’ve agreed to a ceasefire.
B: That’s fantastic!  The fighting started way back in July, didn't it?
A: You’ve got it! Lots of people were hurt, on both sides.
B: That’s terrible. So, Thailand is hoping Cambodia will do something nice too?
A: Exactly!  They want Cambodia to help make peace.
B: And Cambodia seems to feel the same way about Thailand.
A: Yep! They’re hoping this release will help build trust.
B: Fingers crossed the ceasefire actually lasts this time!
A: Me too! Let’s hope for some lasting peace.
