A: Hey there! Did you catch the news today?
   B: Not yet, what's up?

A: So, Putin admitted that Russia was responsible for shooting down an Azerbaijan Airlines plane last year. It's a real tragedy, apparently some technical issues in their air defense system caused it.

B: Oh wow! I didn't know about that. What happened to the plane?

A: It was on its way to southern Russia but crashed in western Kazakhstan on Christmas Day. Sadly, 67 people died. Putin said two Russian missiles exploded near the plane after Ukrainian drones entered their airspace. He claims the damage wasn't from warheads but missile debris.

B: That's terrible... I heard Azerbaijan had been blaming Moscow for it. So, this is Putin's attempt to fix things with Azerbaijan?

A: Exactly! Seems like he wants to clear the air and improve relations. Now, in other news, Zelenskyy from Ukraine said getting some Tomahawk cruise missiles from the US could make Russia think twice. They've been wanting them for a while but the Kremlin thinks it might escalate the conflict if they introduce those long-range missiles.
