Weather officials in Japan are urging people to take precautions against heatstroke on Saturday due to high temperatures across much of the country. The mercury was already above 30 degrees Celsius by noon in some locations, including Tokyo's Nerima Ward. Daytime highs of 33 degrees Celsius are forecast in cities including Maebashi, Nagoya and Kyoto. The temperature in central Tokyo is expected to reach 31 degrees Celsius. The figures are 3 to 4 degrees higher than the day before. Officials are advising the public to use air conditioners, drink plenty of water and avoid strenuous outdoor exercise.
