US Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has held an outdoor campaign rally for the first time since he survived an assassination attempt last month.
The former president cancelled outdoor rallies in the wake of the incident for safety reasons. Instead, he appeared at indoor events.
But Trump wanted to hold his campaign rallies outside because they can accommodate larger crowds.
After obtaining approval from the Secret Service, he appeared on stage at an outdoor venue in North Carolina on Wednesday.
He stood behind and in front of bulletproof glass with snipers positioned on surrounding rooftops as part of heightened security precautions.
Trump criticized the Biden administration, saying Israel would have never been attacked if he had been president.
He also referred to comments made by former President Barack Obama at the Democratic National Convention the previous day.
Trump asked his supporters if they saw Obama and his wife Michelle taking shots at him. He said, "They're getting personal all night long" and described Obama as being "very nasty."
Trump has been on the campaign trail this week, holding rallies every day in swing states.
