China has responded to Iran's attacks on Israel by calling on relevant parties to exercise restraint.

China's Foreign Ministry released a spokesperson's remarks on Sunday, which said the country "expresses deep concern over the current escalation" and called for "calm and restraint to prevent further escalations."

The statement said, "The ongoing situation is the latest spillover of the Gaza conflict." It went on to say that the conflict "must end now."

It said, "China calls on the international community, especially countries with influence, to play a constructive role for the peace and stability of the region."
