Yemen's local media say that US airstrikes targeting a port controlled by the Iranian-backed Houthi rebels have killed 40 and wounded more than 100 others.
The US military's Central Command announced on Thursday that it had attacked the port, which it claimed is used by the Houthis to smuggle fuel and embezzle revenues.
On Friday, Israeli forces said they had intercepted a missile launched from Yemen.
Meanwhile, a US State Department spokesperson criticized China, claiming that it is supporting a firm that is providing satellite imagery to the Houthis. The spokesperson said the firm is thereby supporting Houthi attacks on US interests in the Middle East.
The US did not reveal what kind of satellite imagery was provided to the Houthis. But the spokesperson said the US government had previously urged China to stop supporting the company.
