A Russian state-run news agency says the administration of President Vladimir Putin is considering requiring foreigners entering the country to sign a &quot;loyalty agreement.&quot;
                
TASS reported on Wednesday that Russia&#039;s interior ministry has drafted a bill calling for introducing such a document.
                
TASS said, &quot;Under the bill, a foreigner would be barred from hindering the work of Russian public authorities and discrediting the country&#039;s domestic or foreign policies and public authorities or government officials.&quot;
                
The bill will reportedly prohibit foreigners from spreading information on same-sex marriage and sexual minorities for the purpose of respecting traditional family values.
                
Foreigners would also be barred from &quot;distorting the historical truth&quot; about the feat of the former Soviet people in the defense of the homeland and its &quot;contribution to the victory over fascism.&quot;
                
It is not yet known what penalties violators would face.
                
Public frustrations are believed to be growing in Russia over the prolonged war in Ukraine. The Putin administration is wary of trends in public opinion and interference by the Western countries.
                
The latest move is seen as part of the administration&#039;s efforts to further tighten controls on speech and thought of the public, including foreigners.
