Yamagata Shinkansen partially suspended due to heavy snow NHK

Heavy snow has forced the suspension of Yamagata Shinkansen operations in both directions between Fukushima Station and Shinjo Station in Yamagata Prefecture all day on Sunday.

The Tokaido Shinkansen bullet train has been operating at a lower speed than usual in some sections between Nagoya Station and Shin-Osaka Station starting with the first train of the day. As a result, trains are expected to be delayed by more than 20 minutes.

The Sanyo Shinkansen bullet train is operating at a reduced speed, causing delays for some outbound trains.

Other Shinkansen bullet trains are scheduled to operate as usual.

JR is calling on passengers to check the latest information on its website.
